Donations


  • Polimeni Collection:

  • it was donated in 1944 and it includes about 2.400 bibliographic documents about different subjects in different languages (French, English and German), the history of Navy, Italian literature, linguistics, sociology and pedagogy, medicine, botany and zoology.

  • USIS Collection:

  • it was donated in the years 1969-1971 and it includes documents belonging to U.S.I.S. (United States Information Service). It contains about 2.350 monographs in order to promote American culture, especially translations of American texts.

  • Cannarozzo Collection:

  • it was donated in 1985 and it includes about 1.500 bibliographic documents: French literature and fiction, nonfiction, law, religion, politics, psychology, physics and chemistry.

  • Antonino Bongiovanni Collection:

  • It was donated in 2012 and it consists of 411 works including diploma, school and university books, dictionaries, copybooks, letters, spelling books, pupils lists, etc. They mostly date back to the fascist period.
    The collection also includes a body of copybooks edited by the famous Cartiera Pigna dating back to the Italian Colonial Empire.

  • Salvatore Pugliatti Collection:

  • it was donated in 2012. It includes about 6.000 documents belonging to the private library of the jurist. They are both monographs and magazines, lots of classic works, in original language too, poems, essays, dictionaries, tales and even very precious original editions of first half of ‘900 authors.
