The museum is housed inside the Norman Castle, an imposing building located at the center of the main square of Adrano (Catania).
It exposes collections coming both by archeological excavations and by donations or occasional recoveries relating to the territory Adrano and surrounding areas.
Not lacking, however, evidence from other parts of central and eastern Sicily. Along with archaeological collections, which form the core primary and founding, the Museum houses a library, archive and a section devoted to historical and artistic collections.
